The Central European History Society is proud to announce the winner of its annual Hans Rosenberg Book Prize, awarded to the best book on Central European History by a North American scholar. The 2022 prize (for books published in 2022) is awarded to Marjorie Elizabeth Plummer (University of Arizona) for her monograph, Stripping the Veil: Convent Reform, Protestant Nuns, and Female Devotional Life in Sixteenth-Century Germany (Oxford University Press, 2022).
The prize will formally be awarded at the Society’s annual business meeting, to be held from 5:30–6:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Hilton Union Square San Francisco, Franciscan B.
